The KOVIFAST™ Novel Coronavirus (2019-CoV) IgG/IgM Antibody Rapid Test is based on colloidal gold immunochromatography technology and is intended for the qualitative detection and differentiation of IgG and IgM antibodies to the SARS-CoV-2 virus in human whole blood, serum or plasma through the use of two test lines on the test cassette.
The KOVIFAST™ Antibody Rapid Test is an effective tool for identifying individuals that have recently or previously been infected with COVID-19 and who may have immunity to the SARS-CoV-2 virus – including those that were asymptomatic. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has stated three use cases for antibody testing:
- To aid decision making as to whether people can return to work
- To help determine who may qualify for vaccination when available
- To identify recovered individuals that may be potential plasma donors for the treatment of COVID-19
