The Monkeypox Virus Antigen Rapid Test Kit is used for in vitro qualitative detection of the monkeypox virus antigen in the oropharyngeal (throat) swabs and skin exudates of humans by colloidal gold immunochromatography. For professional use only.

Test results cannot be used solely for the diagnosis of monkeypox virus infection. It shall be combined with other diagnostic information such as nucleic acid testing, medical history and contact history to confirm the infection status. Positive results can be used as the basis for separating and managing the suspected group in the early stage. However, positive results only indicate the presence of the monkeypox virus in the samples, and constitute no basis for confirming the infection with monkeypox virus. Positive results shall neither rule out the infection with monkeypox virus, nor solely constitute the basis for making any treatment or disease control decisions. Individuals suspected of monkeypox virus infection shall accept further nucleic acid testing, regardless of positive or negative antigen test result.

Individuals with positive results shall be reported and quarantined as per the local policies on epidemic prevention and control, with the appropriate medical aid required. Individuals with negative results shall follow the local requirements on epidemic prevention and control. In case of confirming the results, further testing with other methods of higher sensitivity shall be performed, if necessary. If the results remain negative, continual tests are required, and timely medical aid shall be sought when necessary.
